Drawing is important in three separate stages of the creation of a painting

Jumbo graphite sticks are great for sketching and for drawing value studies. They have the ease of a pencil with a much wider variety of line thickness. I like the pointed shaped sticks (such as the PITT sticks by Faber Castell) for their precision.

Graphite sticks of the brand Art Graf are water-soluble.
